Eizen Group Acquires Controlling Interest in WRHL

Winnipeg, MB – May 22, 2025 – Eizen Corporation has acquired a controlling interest in the Winnipeg Rec Hockey League (WRHL), setting a new direction for recreational hockey in Manitoba. Alongside this acquisition, Eizen has finalized a multi-year operating agreement with the Canadian Amateur Sport Network (CASN), ensuring long-term support and guidance for the league.
With this acquisition, the WRHL will adopt a substantially different operating approach focused on fostering deeper relationships with teams and players. Eizen is committed to working directly with teams to understand their unique needs and to deliver a more customized league experience that is responsive, engaged, and meaningfully integrated into the Winnipeg community.
Overseeing these changes is Nick Roeleveld, Director of Business Operations. Nick brings a background of relationship-based partnerships with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, working with individuals, small businesses, and city officials to build a stronger sense of community through sport. Additionally, his background of premium hospitality management with the Edmonton Oilers showcased his skills in developing tailored experiences for clients. This same focus on customization and relationship-building will guide the evolution of the WRHL, with an emphasis on ensuring every team’s experience reflects their specific wants and needs.
The partnership with CASN will reinforce these priorities by providing additional support and expertise to help further integrate the league within the community. Additional details about the transition and opportunities for input from teams and players will be announced in the coming weeks.
