The WRHL offers the best combination of flexibility and bang-for-buck in the city while handling all the details that go into running a league! We offer you more ice time at a lower per-minute cost, giving you the option of getting more ice-time while making fewer late-night drives to the rink. We take care of the officials, the ice contracts, and anything else that goes on behind-the-scenes. You just focus on the game!
We offer different packages for you based on your preferences, and our pre-season surveys and home-ice options strategically maximize the number of games you have in your preferred region, time frame, and dates. We also go to great lengths to schedule around any dates your team is unavailable for.

REGISTRATION OPTIONS

SEASON DETAILS
- Regular season begins in mid-September
- No games between December 24-January 1
- Regular season ends in late-March, with playoffs ending in late-April
GAME DETAILS
- 3 x 15-minute stop time periods with a flood every two periods
- 3-on-3 overtime + shootout (if necessary) and time permits
- 90-minute game slots
- 2 Officials + 1 Timekeeper per game
TEAM SCHEDULING
- Our pre-season surveys will gather information to consider your:
- Favourite Region
- Least Favourite Region (no more than 10% of games in this region backed by a credit guarantee*)
- Favourite Time Range
- Preferences on Dates
- We go above and beyond to cater to your needs, and have done the below in the past to cater to team needs:
- Schedule around conflicts with a high number of players who play for multiple WRHL teams to ensure they minimize dates that both teams play on the same day
- Schedule around conflicts with up to 5 specific dates you cannot play, and will do our best to avoid conflicts of more than 5 dates too
- Monitor league averages on start times for teams in the same segment, ensuring that all teams have within a 10% range of the percentage of late starts (defined as 10pm or later)
*Please note, if your team ever plays more than 10% of its games in its non-preferred region, a credit for future seasons of $200 will be provided
PLAYOFFS
- All teams in every division make the playoffs
- All playoff series are best 2-of-3, resulting in a higher average number of playoff games per team than other playoff formats
- Playoff costs are included in your registration free, no matter how far you go you don’t pay a penny more!
LEAGUE PERKS
- We take care of all official assignments and payments
- Player insurance is included at no additional costs
- Trophies are awarded to League Champions
- Promotions with league partners for all players
- Only league to offer “Be-A-Pro” package games that allow you to play at Canada Life Centre!
- "Skip-the-flood" request (subject to approval by facility staff each night) when both teams agree and it is the last slot of the night at that facility
WINTER DRAW DETAILS
- Guaranteed over $5,000 worth of prizes to be handed out, including a free set of team jerseys, multiple stick giveaways, free home ice, registration discounts, and more! A minimum of 10 separate draws and prizes will be handed out!
- Full list of prizes to be confirmed by August 1
- Ballots for the draw are awarded** for the below:
- BRONZE: One (1) ballot for the Winter Draw by registering by August 26 with a deposit
- SILVER: Three (3) ballots for the Winter Draw by registering by August 1 with a paid deposit of $1,000 or more
- GOLD: Five (5) ballots for the Winter Draw by registering and paying in full by August 1
**Please note, ballot tier levels represent the total number of ballots awarded and are not stacked.
SCHEDULING PERKS
- 10 “home ice” slots are available at $1,000+GST
- Registration opens Monday, July 11 @ 12:00 pm
- Any teams that register with home ice (with deposit + home ice paid) on Monday, July 11 will be randomly drawn into their order of selection
- After Monday, the home-ice selection order will be determined by registration date/time until it sells out
- Home-Ice provides you with a minimum of 50% of your games at a specific facility, day, and timeframe
- Example: Tuesday @ Iceplex 9:15 or earlier
- After “home ice” slots sell out (which is expected to occur quickly), a limited number of individual scheduling perks will be made available for sale that only features one of the perk items for $700+GST each
- These perks allow you to choose one of the elements of home ice, such as time range, facility, or day-of-week

PAYMENT INFORMATION
PAYMENT SCHEDULE
- $1,000 deposit with registration (plus home ice cost if applicable)
- $1,500 by August 15
- $2,000 by September 15
- $3,000 by October 15
- Remainder by November 1
Late payment fees may apply for accounts with an outstanding balance past November 1. Payment plans and arrangements can be made by emailing jason@winnipegrechockeyleague.com.
PAYMENT METHODS
- Fees can be paid via E-transfer to payments@winnipegrechockeyleague.com
- Captains can split up and assign individual payment amounts directly through Hockeyshift for easier team management
